Dr. Mei Ling Hua is a NPC in the Arcana Heart series. She is a young scientist who created Mei-Fang. She works with Kira Daidouji, a friend and colleague from school.

Appearance

Mei Ling resembles Mei-Fang, who she built in her image. She has fair skin and sharp sea green eyes. Her long navy hair is worn up in a bun covered by white frilly fabric held by a yellow ribbon. Her bangs are neatly spread out to partially expose her forehead while her long forelocks frame her face. She wears an emerald hair clip.

Her attire is simple, composed of a teal and gold chinese dress beneath a white lab coat.

Personality

A kind and thoughtful type who gets hung up in her work so much that she ends up neglecting mostly everything else. She is forgetful, but serious about her scientific work and refuses to ever let her creations be used for bad purposes.

She adoringly showers Mei-Fang with love and affection, but wishes she could get her to smile more; especially since they are so much alike and most of her personality was encoded into her.

Story

Arcana Heart

Mei Ling mysteriously leaves Tokyo without word or mention, causing Mei-Fang to trail behind her in a desperate attempt at locating her, despite being given an order not to follow her. She soon learns that Mei Ling was taken captive by Mildred Avallone.

Arcana Heart 2

Mei Ling feels responsible for the previous incident and runs to manage the situation with Mei-Fang.

Arcana Heart 3

Mei Ling was invited to become the Celestial engineering advisor of the Rosenberg Branch in the European Celestial Union, which was established by Petra. She brought Mei-Fang with her.

Etymology

• Mei means "nice, beautiful, good, pretty" (美).
• Ling means "tinkling" (玲).
• Hua means "flower/flowery, blossom/bloom, inflorescence, fancy pattern, spend, expend, multicolored/multicolor" (花).

Trivia

• In contrast to Mei-Fang's orange color scheme, hers appears to be a dark shade of green or teal. Ironically, their personalities would be more suited for the others color.
• She received her doctorate in celestial sciences from the Massachusetts University of Celestial Engineering.
• After the events of the first game, she would start appearing in Mei-Fang's intro and victory.
